Scan, respond, then look across the car again
THRESHOLD window defense asks you to watch the vehicle’s windows and respond when the entity threatens a side. Locate the current appearance, follow the displayed directional arrow, and return to scanning. On PC, players describe the arrow action as clicking and dragging.
The defense continues after each response, so keep checking the other windows. Return to scanning as soon as you finish an input.
Recognize Danny’s new task
The car scene follows the earlier escape with circle and slide prompts. When Danny asks you to watch the windows, switch from those action targets to the vehicle surroundings.
When an arrow appears, leave the earlier circle targets behind. Find the threatened window and complete the directional response shown there.
| What you notice | What to do next |
|---|---|
| Danny introduces the window task | Start watching across the car |
| The entity appears at a window | Locate the current side and read the prompt |
| A directional arrow is displayed | Perform the shown response |
| The response finishes | Resume checking the other windows |
| The scene ends and the Story advances | Follow the next objective |
Use the car chase guide if you are stuck before reaching this scene. It covers the earlier input sequence.
Follow the arrow instead of guessing a swipe
Read the direction currently shown. A downward swipe from one moment is not the response to every appearance. The game presents the current instruction while the threat can come from different windows.
On PC, click and drag the arrow as directed. Merely clicking the window or tapping where the entity appeared is not the same interaction. On a different device, read the displayed input rather than assuming the PC action is identical.
If the response does not register, identify the mistake before the next attempt: did you drag in the wrong direction, click without dragging, or react to the previous prompt? Use that mistake to decide what to change on the next attempt.
The controls guide compares this drag interaction with the game’s hold, circle-click and keypad actions.
Keep a scan pattern without making it rigid
Look across the front, rear and side windows rather than staying on the last threatened side. A simple scan order helps you avoid neglecting one area, but interrupt that order when a current cue needs attention.
Keep every window in your scan. Copying the order of attacks from a recording can leave you watching one side while the current arrow appears on another.
Listen to Danny’s warning, locate the threat, respond, and resume scanning. Avoid using voice calls as a reason to stop looking; they belong alongside the visible task, not in place of it.
Recover from the common attention traps
| Habit | Why it loses the task | Better check |
|---|---|---|
| Watch only the last window | Other sides leave your attention | Look across the car after responding |
| Repeat one swipe | The current arrow can ask for a different direction | Read each arrow before acting |
| Click the window itself | The arrow is the interaction you need | Complete the shown drag or device prompt |
| Celebrate after one correct input | The sequence can continue immediately | Reset attention to the next cue |
| Keep using earlier circle inputs | The Story has changed tasks | Read the window-defense instruction |
If the scene feels too fast, concentrate on the current prompt rather than trying to predict the whole sequence. Read that arrow and make one deliberate response before looking for the next cue.
Move on when the defense ends
When the Story leaves the vehicle sequence, look at the next objective. The shop break gives you a chance to restore sanity and check batteries. Take time for those checks once the window attacks end.

FAQ
How do I use the window arrow on PC?
Players describe clicking and dragging it. Follow the displayed direction and check the response instead of merely clicking the threatened window.
Should I always swipe down?
Read the current arrow. A direction shown at one moment does not establish the response for the whole sequence.
Why do I get caught after a correct input?
The defense continues across appearances. Resume scanning the windows after responding rather than watching only the side you just handled.
Are the circle escape and car windows the same task?
No. Circle inputs happen during the earlier escape; the vehicle scene asks for scanning and directional arrow responses.
