Decide when to speak before the entity replies
THRESHOLD voice chat is part of Chase’s pressure: the official description warns that it can hear you and that spoken words can get you killed. On your first escape attempt, cut unnecessary chatter and focus on collecting what the exit needs. If you want to experiment with replies, do it deliberately instead of forgetting that the pursuit is still running.
Hearing an answer does not mean you have found a safe conversation. Players receive contextual replies while searching for keys, then continue dealing with the entity. Keep moving and checking the objective even when a reply catches your attention.
Check your microphone before testing the interaction
Confirm that you have joined voice and that your microphone is in the state you intended. Roblox’s Experience Controls include a microphone on/off control. Use that displayed control rather than guessing whether the game is receiving your speech.
If you cannot join voice or cannot find its controls, check Roblox’s current Voice Chat setup help. Account access and region support are platform questions. Do not treat an absent icon as proof that THRESHOLD’s entity has stopped reacting.
Before the pursuit starts:
- Look at the current voice connection and microphone state.
- Choose whether this run is for interaction or for learning the escape.
- Set the microphone accordingly before entering pursuit.
- Return your attention to the route once the check is finished.
Turning down playback volume is a different choice from changing microphone input. Keep the game audible enough to notice its warnings while using the displayed mic control for speech.
Keep replies separate from guaranteed commands
Players have heard responses while announcing a found item, talking to the entity or reacting to danger. The entity can respond to speech, but these exchanges do not give you a reliable command list. Repeating a phrase from a recording does not promise the same reaction in your round.
| What you notice | Useful next action | Assumption to avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Entity answers something you said | Keep track of its approach and your next search area | The reply has stopped the pursuit |
| Dialogue mentions your friends | Check your own position and regrouping plan | A named phrase guarantees somebody else’s safety |
| Nothing answers | Check your voice state, then keep playing the objective | The entity cannot reach you |
| You get frightened and start shouting | Mute unnecessary input and resume your route | More speech helps complete the search |
Do not stand still trying to perfect a funny exchange when you are holding an unfinished objective item. Use a quieter moment for testing; once the entity approaches, decide where you are going next.
Communicate without losing the collection task
In maintenance-key Chase, your team needs to search, collect and use the keys at the exit. Track which areas each player has checked and what the exit still needs. Agree on that plan before pursuit rather than calling across the map every time someone turns a corner.
If you talk during the run, keep the message about a useful task: a checked room, a collected key or your return to the exit. Short messages can help coordination, but brief speech does not guarantee that you avoid detection. The maintenance-key guide explains the deposit checks that a conversation cannot replace.
Scrow’s mall adds its own sound pressure. The bear’s dialogue and movement around the search make it easy to lose focus on the remaining papers. Continue checking the current paper count and search route; microphone decisions do not supply a missing digit or unlock the keypad. Read the Scrow route guide when that is your selected objective.
Separate Chase speech from Story dialogue
Story includes a different listening problem: conflicting directions spoken as Danny in the supermarket. One voice claims to be watching the CCTVs and warns against the other. Solve that scene by following the current warning and objective rather than assuming a familiar voice is trustworthy.
That scripted decision is not a reason to repeat a phrase into your microphone. The supermarket guide covers the scene itself. For THRESHOLD voice chat, manage what you say to the entity. In Story, listen for the directions that tell you where to go.
FAQ
Can the Chase entity hear players?
The official game description says Chase can hear you and react to spoken words. Manage microphone input deliberately while learning the objective.
Is there a phrase that always makes it safe?
Do not rely on a universal safe phrase. A reply in one run does not establish a guaranteed way to stop pursuit.
Why is the entity not answering me?
Check your voice connection and microphone state first. For unavailable platform voice controls, use Roblox’s current setup help rather than guessing an in-game fix.
Does muting finish the Chase objective?
No. You still need the required keys or password papers and the appropriate exit interaction.
Is Danny’s supermarket dialogue the same mechanic?
It is a Story scene with conflicting directions. Listen to its warnings and current objective; talking into the mic is not the route solution.
