Search upstairs first, then follow the missing papers
Start a THRESHOLD Scrow chase search with a quick look around the entrance and stairs, then move upstairs to sweep the food court. If that sweep leaves you short, widen into the stair area and market. Let your current paper count decide when to leave the upstairs search; do not assume every page will be there.
Scrow’s mall escape uses password papers and a keypad. The route becomes easier to learn when you separate the search from the final input: find the required papers, check the digits for this round, reach the keypad and complete the exit.
Build a search route, not a fixed spawn list
The food court is a useful first search priority because a favorable layout can place several papers in that area. Other layouts spread the search farther. A clear that needs a market sweep is not automatically a mistake.
| Search stage | What to check | When to move on |
|---|---|---|
| Entrance and stairs | A quick view around the approach and stair area | You have checked the nearby space without turning it into a full detour |
| Upstairs food court | Accessible surfaces and small paper glows | The sweep is finished or pursuit interrupts it |
| Stair connections | Areas left unchecked on the way upstairs | The remaining paper is not in your earlier sweep |
| Market | Reachable aisles, sides and farther spaces | Your current paper requirement is complete |
| Keypad and exit | This round’s gathered digits and input prompt | The code is accepted and the exit interaction is ready |
Treat those areas as a search order. Directions such as right here in a fast recording depend on the player’s view; they do not give you a reliable coordinate for your current attempt.
If the entity interrupts a sweep, remember where you stopped. On returning, finish the unchecked part instead of restarting the whole food court. That keeps an ordinary clear from turning into several laps over the same surfaces.
Look for papers while managing visibility
Look for the small light emitted by the papers along this route. Use that cue to scan areas quickly, but still check the pickup and collected progress. After spotting a glow from the stairs, still reach the paper and complete its pickup.
Take reachable batteries along the search when they help you keep the area visible. Do not copy an exact pickup count as a requirement for every route. Check the resource display you are actually using, especially before a wider market search.
Keep game audio available while learning the pursuit. The bear’s dialogue can compete with your attention, but turning the entire game down removes warnings along with the chatter. Concentrate on the next unchecked area and where you can move if the entity approaches.
Enter the code from your own attempt
Once the required papers are collected, go to the keypad and read the gathered digits. The PC input shown in the route uses the keyboard and Enter to confirm, followed by moving back and continuing toward the exit. Follow the controls displayed on your device.
Do not enter 4877 just because it appears in a successful run. That number is an example from that attempt. Copying it skips the collection and checking step that actually solves your round.
If the keypad rejects your input, inspect the current digits and whether the paper requirement is complete. Re-enter carefully rather than immediately running another full lap of the mall. The code-paper guide focuses on missing-page and input problems.
Learn a clear before timing a speedrun
Fast runs combine a practiced route, a favorable paper layout and a chosen loadout. The fast route shown here uses Godspeed for movement. Check the current perk tooltip and your equipped loadout before comparing your time with somebody else’s.
For practice, keep the search order consistent and record which area supplied the final paper. That tells you whether time went into an unnecessary revisit, a missed glow or a longer layout. Restarting every unfavorable run prevents you from learning the recovery route that finishes ordinary attempts.
The useful first target is a repeatable clear. Once you can finish both concentrated and spread-out paper layouts, work on shorter checks and cleaner keypad entry. A video’s under-one-minute title is not a guarantee for your spawn layout or loadout.
Read the perk guide for loadout decisions. If your objective says maintenance keys instead of password papers, switch to the maintenance-key guide; this mall route is not the key-deposit route.
FAQ
Where should I search first in Scrow?
Quickly check the entrance and stairs, then prioritize the upstairs food court. Widen into the connections and market if the current counter remains short.
Do all papers spawn in the food court?
Do not plan around that. The route covers different layouts, including ones that require a wider search.
Is 4877 the Scrow exit code?
It is a code from one recorded attempt. Use the digits gathered in your own round.
Do I need Godspeed to learn the route?
Learn the paper search and exit interaction with your current loadout. Compare speedrun times only after checking the perk that is actually equipped.
Can I guarantee a clear under one minute?
No. Layout, loadout, route knowledge and input speed affect a run. Practice finishing the objective before treating a fast time as your next goal.
